Laser is the best method to fade or remove a tattoo
Laser tattoo removal at Lucky Bird is carried out by Alex, our Laser Tattoo Removal Specialist. Every new client starts with a consultation and patch test, giving Alex the opportunity to assess your tattoo, discuss your goals and make sure treatment is appropriate for you.

How IT WORKS
Laser tattoo removal can be simplified into 4 key stages:
TARGET
The laser targets the tattoo ink with very short pulses of energy.
BREAK DOWN
The laser energy is absorbed by the tattoo ink, causing it to heat and expand extremely rapidly. This creates a shock wave that breaks the ink into much smaller particles.
CLEAR
Once the ink has been broken down, your body can naturally clear the smaller particles over the following weeks.
REPEAT
Further treatments progressively fade the tattoo. The time between sessions allows your skin to heal and gives your body time to naturally process and clear more of the broken-down ink.

Thinking About a Cover-Up?
One of the benefits of having your laser tattoo removal carried out at a tattoo studio is having professional tattoo artists on hand to discuss potential cover-up designs once your skin has fully healed, offer advice on avoiding another unwanted tattoo, and help determine when your tattoo has faded enough to be comfortably covered.

Pricing
The cost of your treatment depends on several factors, including the size, detail, and colours of your tattoo. Size alone isn't always the best indicator of treatment cost. Two tattoos measuring 8cm could require very different levels of treatment. One may be a simple outline, while another could contain detailed shading and multiple colours.
With this in mind, we've provided the pricing below as a guide to give you an idea of what to expect.
Treatment prices are always confirmed during your initial consultation and patch test.

What happens during treatment?
YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
Your first appointment will be a consultation. We'll assess your tattoo, discuss your goals, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and explain the treatment process and what you can expect.
Once you're happy to go ahead, we'll carry out a patch test during your consultation. This involves treating a small area of your tattoo with the laser and allowing one week to assess how your skin responds before proceeding with a full treatment.
Adverse reactions are uncommon, but the patch test allows us to assess your individual response before beginning your treatment course.
Once your patch test has been completed and there are no concerns with your skin's response, you can book your first full treatment.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Laser tattoo removal is a process that requires multiple treatments. The number of sessions you'll need varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including the tattoo's colours, ink density, age, placement, skin tone and the individual's response to treatment. Because of this, we can only give estimates and will review throughout your course of treatment.
If your goal is to lighten a tattoo for a cover-up, you may only need a few sessions. If you're aiming for as much removal as possible, treatment may require 8 or more sessions, and some tattoos can require considerably more.
HOW LONG BETWEEN TREATMENTS?
After each treatment, we'll advise you when you're ready for your next session. This will typically be 6–10 weeks, depending on placement, how your skin has healed and how your tattoo is responding.
The waiting period isn't simply about allowing the skin to heal. The laser breaks the ink into smaller particles, but your body then does the work of clearing those particles. Giving your body sufficient time between treatments allows this process to continue before the next session. The laser starts the process; your body finishes it.
